French 3 – Intermediate Plus

In stock

The class will cater to students who have already taken the intermediate AF class (French 2) who are looking to consolidate and expand their knowledge of French language and culture. On a weekly basis, the students will receive a selected text in French to read at home. Before they come to class, they should have already read the text and become familiar with the new vocabulary. The instructor will read the text in class. However as the semester progresses the readings will be done by the students with the instructor providing only support, if needed. Afterwards, the class will complete a variety of exercises, which will enable the students to buttress their comprehension of the text. The class will conclude with a debate based on the text. The goal of the class is to prepare French learners who already possess a good grammatical knowledge to use it spontaneously in order to feel comfortable to join an advanced conversation class (Salon – French 4) or a French book club.

Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00PM to 7:00PM beginning Wednesday January 26th. The classes will be taught in person, on the campus of Salve Regina University in Room 203 of the O’Hare Classroom building.

To register for the Intermediate French Class ALL students must be members of the Alliance Francaise de Newport. Membership costs as little as $45 (less for full-time students).
